Last Thursday I got Catherine to watch the entire first series of Being Human and she loved it. Just wanted to tell you.

The big news is about Saturday, which was when I went to see Wicked in London, whoop whoop. A sixteen hour day. Sixteen! And here’s how it went:
I woke up at half past eight in the morning, and, y’know… got ready. This was what I wore, so I basically looked like a walking New Look advertisement, but what can I say? I stuck to the Gelphie theme of pink and green, of course, being the little fangirl that I am. =3 The bag was the most complicated bit; because, being me, I had to take something for every possible situation that I could get myself into throughout the day. Here is a list of what I decided I needed:

  • Paper soap. In case there were none in the toilets we visited. Clean hands, whoop whoop.
  • Three packets of tissues. As a hayfever sufferer, I began taking tissues with me EVERYWHERE when I was about twelve. I have now become known as the tissue lady, who everyone asks for tissues whenever they need one. This has caused the necessity for an increase in tissue supplies, so there is enough to go around. Hehe.
  • Bottled water. To… erm… drink, of course. It also combines as hand washing water to go with the paper soap.
  • Pink lipstick. The colour I put on in the morning. Please note I did not use this all day.
  • Green lipstick. Because I have green lipstick and we were going to Wicked. I also didn’t use this all day.
  • Pink and green nailvarnish. Incase I felt the need to neaten my nails. I didn’t.
  • Foundation, powder, blusher and mascara. Also never used.
  • Sweets – toffees, imperial mints, two packets of chewits, mentos and fruitella.
  • Snacks – two go ahead yoghurt bars and an apple.
  • My phone. Because I didn’t fancy being stranded in London/Cardiff, depending on when I needed to phone someone – getting stranded in a city is one of the scariest things I can think of. Too many crowds. I loathe cities, they scare me.
  • My ipod, for the bus journey.
  • My camera, for picture taking.
  • A purse, with money for buying things.
  • Another purse with money for buying things, incase the first one got lost or stolen.
  • Some paper and a pen. Because my encounter with a certain Matt Smith last year means I now take something that I could get an autograph on everywhere I go… as long as I remember, anyway. I suppose I’ve always got the tissues. xD

So yeah, my bag was, as usual, bursting. He.

I went down my friend’s house to catch the train down to Cardiff. As per usual, she asked for my ticket because I’m a wimp and knowing me I’d have gotten off at the wrong station or something. Off the train we ran for the bus, and it started to absolutely tip down. Torrential rain. The human statue guy leapt off his little podium thingy to try and find shelter, it was quite amusing. What was not amusing, however, was the fact that my jacket was completely saturated with rain water even though I had been under an umbrella. Rargh. Rargh. Rargh.

We discovered that the bus did not plan on stopping for pit stops on the way to London, and so we all decided to use the loo on the bus. The bus started to move as I was in the little cubicle. Weirdest, and most disgusting, experience of my life. TMI, I know, but ugh… they could at least febreeze the place between each trip!

When we got to London we had three hours to spare before the show, so we shopped a bit, and took lots of pictures. Twas fun. I bought my father a birthday present, because I’m nice like that.

And then we went inside. It didn’t feel real, if I’m honest. I’ve been a fan of the show for around four years, but this was the first time that I saw it live, and I couldn’t quite believe that I was there. Our seats were really high up, but the view was fair enough. You couldn’t really see all that much expression, and you could see the guides on the stage, but I couldn’t have been less bothered.

I don’t really know what to say about the show itself. I mean… it was Wicked. You expect the people to be talented, y’know? Rachel Tucker’s No Good Deed was absolutely immense. Dadadada. I dont know what to say. I loved it? And I bought my first ever piece of Wicked merchandise in the shape of the green flowery t-shirt. <3

We didn’t get back until Cardiff until half past two in the morning, and it took another hour for me to get home because we dropped one of my friends off on the way. =) I got home, had a cup of tea and a piece of toast, and went to sleep.

Sunday

I didn’t get a lie in on the next day – Easter, to most people, but Dad’s birthday to me. I almost forgot it was Easter, to be honest, after the excitement of the day before. I got quite a lot of Easter eggs, in my opinion, and a book off my brother and sister in law. <3 My mother set up the entire house as an egg hunt for my nieces to find as well, but they didn’t actually end up coming over – they spent the day at their other Nan’s – which was quite sad.

We went out for a meal for my father’s birthday. A pub lunch, nothing fancy. But it tasted really, really, really awesome. We were the only ones there too, I don’t know if that’s a good thing. The first time we went there it was full and I had my back to everyone, which I hate. It makes me feel awfully self conscious. I prefer to be able to sort of… survey the room. xD However, because we were the only ones there the bar staff paid us much more attention; it was nice of them to do so, because it’s their job, but I’m not a fan of conversing with people I don’t know. Rah.

After eating we just went for a drive, basically, all over the mountains to see some lambs. Yay.

Doctor Who

I adored it, basically. Matt and Karen were both awesome, and it had some of the best lines ever. Looking back, Prisoner 0 wasn’t all that fantastic a villain, but it was a nice start to what I expect will be a fantastic series. =)

Welcoming the New Year http://blueberry-bubble.net/2010/01/02/welcoming-the-new-year/ http://blueberry-bubble.net/2010/01/02/welcoming-the-new-year/#comments Sat, 02 Jan 2010 21:40:02 +0000 Administrator http://blueberry-bubble.net/blog/?p=3 I recently revisited this blog, and realised how depressing all of last year’s entries were! I only really wote four or five, but not one of them was positive. I decided to delete the posts, because they were painful to read back – and if I can’t read my own blogs, why would anyone else want to? I’m going to try and be slightly more positive in this blog – not all the time, granted. But no more angsty vents. That’s my rule. Moaning about schoolwork and such is fine, but anything rambling on about how rubbish my life is is a no-no. Mostly because lots of people have it worse off than me. I guess I’ll still write the blogs, seeing as everyone should be allowed to vent, but I’ll private the entries, or something. =D

Doctor Who Spoilers

So, today is the second of January, 2010. I really hate the New Year – that’s another thing that depresses me, but this one is already turning out to be quite monumental. Yesterday was the episode of Doctor Who, where David Tennant’s Doctor regenerated into Matt Smith’s. I’ve not really shut up about it since, so I feel like I’m repeating myself, but it was just. So. Awesome. There was one flaw that I am tempted to point out, in my opinion, but I don’t really know if I’d have been happy with it changed, either. This was the section where Ten went around saying goodbye to all of his friends and companions. I found this collection of scenes to be so lovely and personal, and it seemed a good ending, but I thought that it took away from the ‘oomph’ that should have been placed on the regeneration. I thought that by the end of all the farewells I was just asking myself “how long is this going to take?“, which really isn’t an appropriate reaction because I – like many, many other people – loved David Tennant as the Doctor. I didn’t want to feel impatient about him leaving!

I don’t really understand why the Doctor went to see Verity Newman though. The Doctor didn’t even love Joan – John Smith did. And, fair enough, Joan had loved him so visiting her granddaughter was a nice gesture, but Verity didn’t know what he looked like. He could have visited her as Matt Smith and said “I’m the Doctor” and the reaction would have been the same. Of course, his personality might have changed and stuff, and if Joan was alive she probably wouldn’t feel the same, but Verity doesn’t know any of this. The Doctor could have used his time to visit other people,  I don’t know who… but still.

I’m so rambling, now. :/ I’ll try and condense all the other good things into a list.

  • Ten’s last words. Many people I’ve seen think the weren’t that good, but I thought they were brilliant. Partly because David Tennant does crying/emotional/upset scenes to superbly, but mostly because it showed us that the Doctor thinks like a human. It makes him a more relatable character, in my opinion. Of course, this could also be seen as a bad thing because… he’s supposed to be super awesome, we’re not supposed to relate to him. But, in what at the end of the day started as a children’s show, it puts across the message that even heroes get scared, and I love that.
  • The rant and Wilf. In a way, I hated this, because saying Wilf was unimportant and deserved to be the one to die and all this was horrible. But, once again, relatability.
  • John Simm. This man is a complete legend. His acting is absolutely awesome. I adore him as the Master… although I don’t know what happened to the Master. Did he get stuck in the Time Lock? I figure we’re not supposed to know. Leaving it open for a return, anyway.
  • The Time Lady. My vote is on it being Susan. Lots of people have said Romana. Some people have said it might be Donna because the Doctor looked at her when Wilf asked who it was, but, in my head, he could have looked at her because Donna is Wilf’s granddaughter, as Susan is to the Doctor. Of course, Donna was also wearing a wedding dress at the time, so as far as we know it’s the Doctor’s wife, or something. I kind of doubt it, though, because wouldn’t she have been on earth with him in Classic Who? I don’t know, I can’t judge, I’ve only seen a few episodes of the classics. Hardly enough to make an opinion.
  • Russell Tovey. Oh. My. Gosh. When I saw that bar with Jack I literally laughed out loud. It suits him so well. xD Russell is awesome, and even though I’m a Janto girl at heart, I could think of worse things than Jack/Alonso. xD <3
  • The scene with the Doctor tied to the chair thing. lol.

I wouldn’t really count this as a good thing, to be honest, but the whole Mickey and Martha being married probably deserves a mention. I’m not sure if I like the pairing, I always imagined the both of them would just end up with randomers not a part of the whoniverse. I don’t know. Maybe it’ll grow on me. Hmm.

As for Matt Smith. ((I met him last Summer – just randomly, and didn’t have a camera or a pen or anything. Gutting much? But awesome all the same.)) I’m looking forward to seeing him in series 5. My hopes are high. He seems a very good choice for the role. I’ve seen the trailer for the next series and it looks very good, I’m especially looking forward to the weeping angels returning. I really don’t like this ‘gironimo’ deal though. xD

I think that’s it. If I’ve forgotten anything, feel free to let me know.

End of Doctor Who Spoilers

One awesomely significant thing, is that while myself and my family were watching the episode – it started to snow. It snowed on the first day of a new decade. How awesome is that? I wish I had gotten some video footage or something of the snow falling, but there was no way I was going to move away from the telly, and the snow had stopped by the time DW had finished. It stuck though, only lightly, but it’s not melted. My mother is convinced there’s more to come, but I’m not so sure. I hope it snows the day before we’re scheduled to go back to school. I suck at homework.

Anyway, yeah, would any of you be interested in my New Year’s resolutions? I’m not going to tell you all of them, but here are the ones to do with the internet, I’m probably not going to keep any of them though!

  • I want to try and make more youtube videos. Animations, because I want to improve and it’s fun.
  • Same with DeviantArt submissions, I really want to try and improve my artwork, so I plan to try out different medias – move away from collages, pencils and watercolours – and… yeah. I want a B in A Level art at least, so practising is always good.
  • Blog regularly. Once a week at least, if possible.

Also, just remembered to say. A weird thing just happened, basically, I fell asleep, and woke up with a nosebleed and a fat lip. Any explanation ideas? My best guess is I bit my lip and the nosebleed was just a coincidence, but it’s a weird one, to be fair.

I’m going to shut up now, happy new year! Goodbye. xx.
